Team building
with music
Jack's Guitar Garage offers a team building program like no other. Our songwriting, recording, and production experience will excite your group and give them a collaborative hands on musical activity they will enjoy for a lifetime. No musical experience is required for this high energy and creative project. Comprised of 4 to 12 people, the team will undertake the task of collectively writing and recording a song with the assistance and guidance of our our professional staff. In our studio, participants will focus on using creativity, communication and team work to produce a professional recording everyone can be proud of.
The Process:
After the initial meet and greet, team members will first analyze a couple of songs in order to gain a communicative vocabulary that will help in the development of the project. Team members will then collaborate and come up with an outline of the song, what it will feel like and what message it will convey. Team members will then be split into randomly selected groups to focus on various aspects of the song. They will work on a theme, lyrics, structure, instrumentation and a style. Groups will be asked to be a part of the actual recording process as well, setting up microphones, checking levels and mixing the music when it is time. These groups will rotate during the session in order to appreciate multiple perspectives of the process.

Once the overall skeleton of the song has been established, team members will be asked to choose an instrument or sing. Our instructor(s) will assist in helping individuals craft a musical part to play on the recording. Then the practice begins. Team members, with the guidance of our staff will be assigned specific parts to rehearse until we have a cohesive, musical product. Remember, chances are 95% of your team will have no experience. This will only enlighten the involvement and pull members out of their comfort zone.

Musicians and team members will then put all efforts into the recording process. The goal being to strengthen bonds and relationships, and the value of having a moment in time captured in song. This musical composition journey is an exciting way for your staff to communally shape new ideas, create something together outside of their comfort zone, and experience the power of creating music.

Final Project:
Once our song has been recorded team members will be able to listen to their song and take a few copies on CD back to their workplace. Shortly after the recording session, the song will be available for download, as well as a video with a picture montage of your experience that will be posted on our YouTube channel.
