COVID-19

J.G.G.  is open for in-shop lessons

Zoom lessons remain an option for our students.

Guidelines for Socially Distant Learning at JGG:

Precautions being taken in our FACILITY

  • All staff and patrons will be required to wear masks in our establishment.

  • All in house lessons will take place at our Northborough facility.

  • We will be adding start times for lessons on the fifteens and forty-fives to reduce social interactions.

  • We have separate entrance and exit doors with clear pathways to omit cross traffic.

  • We will start by using our 5 large rooms that will be marked with distance guidance. The smallest of these rooms is 10x10.

  • We have hand sanitizers at the entrance and exit and will require all students to sanitize in the lesson rooms.

  • Our waiting/seating area will be marked for social distance.

  • We will be open by appointments only.

Precautions INSTRUCTORS will be taking

  • Will take their temperature before workday begins and will not come into the shop if not feeling %100 percent.

  • If a member of our staff has been exposed to covid-19, they will not come for in-shop lessons for 14 days.

  • Will practice social distancing (at least 6ft) and wear a mask during lessons.

  • Will have multiple hand sanitizers in each room for student and instructor.

  • Will clean all pianos before and after every lesson. Two pianos in every room. (one for instructors & one for students)

  • Will be using only one room for the day and bringing their own materials. IE: laptop, guitars, etc…

Precautions for STUDENTS and PARENTS to take

  • If you or your child is not feeling well, please do NOT come to the shop for lessons. We can do the same time for you online through Zoom.

  • If you or a family member has been exposed to covid-19, please do not come for in-shop lessons for 14 days.

  • Parents and students will be asked to sign a COVID-19 waiver online before first entrance to our facility.

  • Parents and students will practice social distancing and wear a mask during lessons and in our waiting area.

  • We ask, when possible, that students be dropped off and picked up from lessons in a timely manner.

  • We ask to please limit the number of family members in our waiting area.

  • Students not taking piano lessons will now be required to bring their own instruments and music to lessons (guitar, drumsticks, ukulele, etc…)

  • If a student does not come with an instrument, they will be provided with a Music Theory lesson.

  • Students will be required to tune their own instruments. We recommend every student purchasing a “Snark Tuner”. These are for sale at our shop.

  • All Vocal lessons will be done via ZOOM at this time.
